WEDNESDAY, FEB. 9

Orland Man Arrested on Drug Charges

Tinley Park police arrested Richard A. Janis, 23, of the 13600 block of 92nd Avenue, Orland Park, on a Cook County Sheriff’s Office warrant related to the manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance around 8:45 p.m. Feb. 9, according to reports. Further details were not immediately available Thursday.

TUESDAY, FEB. 8

Safe Robbed

Michael R. Rizzuti, 20, of the 16400 block of OlcottAvenue, Tinley Park, was charged with theft after police said he stole $420 out of a safe in the back ofhis employer's collectibles shop on the 15900 block of Harlem Avenue. Rizzuti was arrested around 5 p.m. Feb. 8 and police recovered $322 from his wallet, according to reports.

Hubcaps Taken from Metra Lot

The owners ofsixcars parked in the 80th Avenue Metra station lot reported all four hubcaps were stolen off their cars over the course of two days, police said. Police believe the hubcaps—valued between $300 and $400—were stolen off the following cars sometime between6:10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Feb. 8:

  • Red 2008 Chevrolet pickup
  • Black 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe
  • 2004 GMC Envoy

Police believe the hubcaps were stolen off the following cars sometime between6:15 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. Feb. 7:

  • GMC Yukon
  • Black 2004 GMC
  • 2003 GMC Envoy

MONDAY, FEB. 7

Beer and Vodka Found in Car

Gregory W. Litoborski, 44, of the 16400 block of Patricia Avenue, Tinley Park, was charged with drunken driving, failure to signal, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane use, police said. Officers said they stopped Litoborski’s car near 159th Street and 71st Court around 6:30 p.m. Feb. 7 for swerving between lanes, driving 10 to 15 mph below the speed limit, and failing to signal during a turn. Three open cans of beer were found in his backseat, as well as three unopened cans and two bottles of vodka, police said.

SATURDAY, FEB. 5

Man Going 50 mph Over Limit

Corey R. Smith, 22, of the 22000 block of Heritage Drive, Frankfort, was charged with speeding more than 40 miles per hour over the limit, according to reports. Police said they stopped Smith’s car in the 19400 block of Harlem Avenue for traveling 95 mph in a 45 mph zone around 3:15 a.m. Feb. 5.

GPS Stolen

A TomTom GPS unit was stolen from an unlocked white Chrysler Voyager parked in front of a home in the 8500 block of Koehler Drive sometime between 9 p.m. Feb. 4 and 4 p.m. Feb. 5, police said.

Windshield Smashed at Odyssey Fun World

The rear windshield of a silver 2005 Mercury Mountaineer was shattered in the Odyssey Fun World east parking lot sometime between 12:15 and 5:23 p.m. Feb. 5, police said.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 2

Cars Towed During Blizzard

Police had seven cars towedto make way for snowplows between 6:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. Feb. 2. Attempts to contact the owners were unsuccessful, according to reports. Tickets and tow notices were sent by mail, police said.

The towed cars were:

  • White 2004 Infiniti at 80th Avenue and Nottingham Drive
  • 2004 Audi and 2005 Honda in the 7800 block of 191st Street
  • Black 2002 Pontiac Sunfirein the 7100 block of Laverne Lane
  • Black 2006 BMW 325 in the 8500 block of 183rd Street
  • Black 1998 Mercedes-Benz at 172nd and Oak Park Avenue
  • Blue 1997 Nissan van in the 17800 block of La Grange Road

Windshield Damaged

A tan 2000 Lexus parked in from of a home in the 16600 block of Parkview Avenue was damaged sometime between 5 and 6:47 p.m. Feb. 2, according to reports.Police said both windshield wiper arms had been bent, which caused damage on the lower portion of the windshield. The black plastic portion of the car’s grille assembly was stolen and the passenger glove box support arm was broken, police said.

TUESDAY, FEB. 1

Stolen Car found Stripped

A car was stolen from a dealership in the 8400 block of 159th Street sometime Jan. 31, but recovered by Oak Forest police the next day, police said. Tinley Park police said the car was found in the 16400 block of Kilbourn Avenue, stripped of its tires and rims, and left on top of milk crates. The dealership’s owner told police the keys had either been left in the car or in the garage.

$30,000 of Phones Stolen

Approximately $30,000 worth of cellular telephones were stolen from a cell phone store in the 6900 block of 159th Street, police said. Police said they reviewed surveillance footage and saw two individuals wearing heavy work clothing, masks and gloves break the glass of a door, enter the store around 8:20 p.m. Feb. 1 and leave three minutes later.
